Tutors Needed
THEIR NOW - OUR NOW -THEIR FUTURE!
What's
your name?" the little boy asked as he crouched low, retrieving
something from the bottom of his locker. I had already walked past him
in the hall. I turned around, told him my name, and he reciprocated with his name. We
shook hands. "Will you help me?" he asked. Within seconds it was clear he
was soliciting his own tutor as he needed academic help. It broke my heart to tell him, "I
am already booked."
Later that day a teacher told me
a tutor was needed for a group of three. A few days earlier, a teacher
came to the room where I was tutoring all but begging help for another
student. This is where these students are now. What we do with our now may change their future.
If you can read, you can help. Please plan to change someone's life this year. Tutor a child or an adult with low level literacy skills. An hour twice a week can change a
